Zafira A
Opel Zafira

Produced since 1999 multipurpose minivan. Thanks to the high functionality of the interior, and excellent marketing, on the home market for four years remained in first place in its class. By 2005, when the last Zafira A left the factory, almost 1.4 million units of the model have been sold.

The car was produced on the basis of Astra II. From that car, among other things, the floor board was borrowed. Zafira external appearance is similar to many vehicles of this class. Nicely styled, but without any major cause for admiration.

The reason why Zafira has become very popular is "inside the car". And that is the high functionality and roominess thanks to an innovative Flex7 system. In addition to the standard five places, at the back there are two additional seats, which if they are not needed, can be easily hidden in the floor. Because of limited space, however, they are rather for younger passengers. When using all seven seats, we get the trunk with a capacity of 150 l. After folding two additional seats, the capacity increases to 600 l. Unfortunately, you cannot remove the second row of seats, yet only fold it and move it forward with the backrest. So we get 1700 l of luggage capacity.

Most of the engines used in Zafira have been already used in Opel Astra. It all began from mounting gasoline 1.6 l petrol (100 HP) and 1.8 l (115 HP). Then the offer was boosted with DI diesel 2.0 (82 HP), DTI (100 HP) and the 2.2 DTI (125HP). Later, another models were introduced.

During the work on the suspension, the Opel began cooperating with the company Porsche's engineers, so that the car is nimble and can be driven nicely and stably. On our roads we might only complain about the hard suspension.

Zafira deserves high scores, although minor errors have not been avoided. During the operation minor accidents occur, but they are not so serious that could affect the overall opinion on this model.
