I decided to go and take some photos relating to ERG and its connection with the 4 cylinder, my all knowledge I've typed below.
A view of the ERG from a variety of shots and its mounting.
The next snapshots will depictthe ways it is connected to exhaust and suction systems.
And here the outlet exhaust to the suction system.
And here the side with the hole through which the exhaust gases go back to the suction system thanks to EGR; the hole can be as cloged up as the hole under the mushrooms valve for me it wwas a diameter of 4.5 mm.
From my guess it appears that the gases are allowed to the electronic EGR where through electro valve are to enter the suction system. The mushroom valve of EGR-a-side is because the gases are injected from the inlet side to the cylinder; exhaust pressure would take mushroom and exhaust gas in an uncontrolled manner would get to the suction system.
Sheer cleaning EGR is not good as you can see on one snapshot channels through which the exhaust gases move can be clogged. Therefore, when cleaning the ERG a total remake should be done, demounting the whole suction system.
The photos I've taken myself. As a model served me my engine and a mate's one, who was right fiddling with the engine.
